Speaker: U.S. Embassy should avoid interfering in Georgia's domestic politics
“The embassy should refrain from interfering in the country’s domestic political debates. Unfortunately, this is precisely what the US embassy is doing, and the situation has become almost humorous with its series of misleading cards,” the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.
“Regardless of how many cards were published, each one contained misinformation and manipulation. I have had several conversations with representatives of various embassies and donors, urging them to be vigilant against financing organizations that spread disinformation. Sadly, the U.S. Embassy has become a distributor of disinformation. If I’m not mistaken, all three cards published were misleading or manipulative, which is clearly at odds with our shared democratic values,” the Speaker stated.
