Speaker: Awaiting ALDE response on whether it will distance itself from xenophobia

“So-called Arabization is complete absurdity. However, we are not surprised by either xenophobia or support for terrorism from a fraudulent party. Nothing surprises us from a party established to appropriate money from the state budget. The issue is that behind them stands ALDE, whose leaders are Kaja Kallas and Marta Kos, and they are backing these fraudsters,” Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said.

According to Papuashvili, he expects an answer from ALDE on whether it will distance itself from xenophobia.

“How far will they go? Do they also support xenophobia? I am waiting for an answer from ALDE. Will ALDE distance itself from xenophobia, against which it has itself announced a fight and calls itself a liberal party, while having the masterminds of the most anti-liberal campaign within its own ranks? If there is no appropriate response, the Georgian people will draw their own conclusions about an alliance supporting fraudsters and terrorists,” Papuashvili said.

For context, Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Lelo – Strong Georgia, said at a briefing in Gonio that the Georgian Dream opposition had “secretly” concluded an agreement concerning the construction of Arab enclaves in Gonio and Krtsanisi Forest Park. “The emergence of two Arab enclaves in two major cities, Batumi and Tbilisi, is a crime against Georgia’s security and economy,” Kupradze said.
