Speaker announces selection competition for Chair, professional members of CEC

The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, announced a selection competition for the Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and three professional members.

In a social media post, the Speaker stated that applicants may submit their competition documents either physically or via email until April 9, 2024.

Additionally, Papuashvili expressed gratitude to the candidates of the selection commission for accepting their roles.

“Today, I have announced the selection competition for the Chair of the CEC and three professional members. Applicants are invited to submit their documents, either physically or via email, by April 9, 2024. Concurrently, I have established a candidate selection commission, comprising the same members as the commission previously assembled by the President for selecting CEC candidates. I extend my gratitude to the commission members for their agreement. As per the regulations of the Parliament of Georgia, one representative of the President has also been included in the commission,” Shalva Papuashvili stated.
