S&P affirms Georgia's sovereign credit rating at 'BB'

Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global Ratings affirmed Georgia’s sovereign credit rating at ‘BB’ with a stable outlook, the Finance Ministry reported.

According to the Ministry, the progress achieved so far in economic growth and fiscal consolidation was positively reflected on the rating.

Based on the expectations of the rating agency, this trend will continue in 2024. The parameters of the budget planned for 2024 indicate a high level of fiscal discipline.

S&P said that the “low level of government debt is a strength of the rating.”
