The solidarity action ‘Signal of Freedom’ in support of Georgian Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, imprisoned by the occupational regime,  will be held on December 29.

According to a statement released by the family of Vazha Gaprindashvili, the solidarity rallies will be held simultaneously in all cities and villages of Georgia as well as in various countries where Georgian immigrants live. The family calls on everyone to join the solidarity action.

“We’ve decided to issue freedom signal in Georgia and worldwide where Georgian immigrants live.

It will be a great and important signal – a signal of freedom which will be heard worldwide! It will be heard by the patients and doctors from all over the world, including Ossetian doctors and patients,  with whom we have been temporarily separated due to misunderstanding. We will hear and remember that there is nothing more important, more accurate sign of being a human, than freedom!

Obviously, the signal is symbolic and at the same time we take a lot of other steps, but sometimes these steps need the support of all of you”, – the statement reads.

The occupied Tskhinvali court sentenced Vazha Gaprindashvili to one year and nine-months to prison during the trial on December 20.
