Shalva Tadumadze selected as candidate for post of Chief Prosecutor
The Prosecutors’ Council selected Shalva Tadumadze, Head of Governmental Administration, as candidate for post of Chief Prosecutor of Georgia.
After interviewing the candidates, 12 members of the Council supported Tadumadze’s candidacy through voting, one member voted against.
The sitting of Prosecutors’ Council was attended by Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani. Otar Kakhidze, a member of Prosecutors’ Council and MP of European Georgia Party left the council’s sitting.
Kakhidze demanded that the sitting was opened for the media. However, the council members declined his viewpoint.
Members had to make choice on a candidate for post of Chief Prosecutor of Georgia among Shalva Tadumadze, Shalva Shavgulidze and Nino Gogniashvili.
Shalva Shavgulidze was presented for the post by European Georgia Party. However, he withdrew his candidacy.
