School readiness groups open at nine public schools in Tbilisi

School readiness groups will be operating at nine public schools in Tbilisi, the Kindergarten Management Agency reported.

According to the Agency, the program runs for 3 hours a day.

“The kids who join the program can benefit from the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality (I2Q) project (World Bank). The project is being implemented through the joint funding of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the World Bank; under this initiative, school readiness groups will begin operating in nine public schools in Tbilisi.

The project aims to link the stages of school readiness and primary education. In accordance with the Law on Early and Preschool Education, the duration of the school readiness program is three hours per day.

The following Public Schools are involved in the program: # 8, 132, 108, 145, 168, 215, 169, 92, 212.
