Salome Zurabishvili holds meetings with voters in Samtskhe- Javakheti region
Salome Zurabishvili, independent presidential candidate continues pre-election meetings with the population in the regions of Georgia.
Today, Salome Zurabishvili met with voters living in Ninotsminda, Akhalkalaki and Aspindza municipalities of Samtskhe- Javakheti region.
“I will be the president of all citizens of Georgia. Because I was born in France, I better understand what does citizenship mean, it means that everyone has the equal right, regardless of their religion, origin, culture and language. I will be the president of these equal citizens. One president granted a [Georgian] citizenship to Turks, whose representative is one of my opponents today, but he did not give you the citizenship. Before I became a Majoritarian (single mandate) MP, I started working on dual citizenship law.
I know this is accepted standards for the whole Europe that the dual citizenship is permitted even in case is not officially accepted. That’s why we have made changes in the constitution this year, according to which the dual citizenship is no longer banned in Georgia,” Zurabishvili said.
