Salome Zourabichvili blocked from attending court for lack of ID

Former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili was initially barred from attending the trial of actor Andro Chichinadze, comedian Onise Tskhadadze, and nine other protest participants, with bailiffs citing her lack of a physical ID card. Zourabichvili had presented her ID electronically, but Judge Nino Galustashvili refused to allow entry based on the electronic version.

According to lawyer Natia Korkotadze, judges often permit citizens to enter courtrooms without a physical ID.

Judge Galustashvili stated that entry without an ID card is not allowed.

Later, Zourabichvili presented her ID card and was subsequently allowed to attend the hearing.
