Saakashvili claims to stand mentally strong despite severe physical condition
Despite my severe physical condition, I stand mentally unbroken, Georgia’s jailed ex-President, Mikheil Saakashvili, said in a recent Facebook post.
The former president believes that unity and strength are the major factors for victory.
“Today, I had to appear before a so-called court. They deliberately chose the so-called November 7 case instead of the jackets or crossing the border cases because they thought it would be more PR-winning on their Russian channels. But they didn’t dare to do this either. People would see that, despite my severe physical condition, they could not break me mentally,” he said.
Saakashvili pointed out that the session was ultimately postponed, at least until autumn, stressing that this demonstrates “the collapse of the Russian government”.
Saakashvili reiterated that he is a prisoner of Russian President Putin and his local proxies.
“The Georgian people, together with the international community, must end this injustice as soon as possible. Georgia should return to a normal, democratic, competitive political process without violence, political prisoners and other Russian ‘mines’,” he added.
