Saakashvili calls for 50,000 protesters to stay in streets until victory: Even million-person rally cannot overthrow ‘backstreet dictatorship’
“Remember, you cannot get rid of this backstreet dictatorship clinging to power even with 300,000 or one million demonstrators. They will gather, and then some Shalome-Malome will shoot a video with them in the background and disperse the rally, so that those who took to the streets can be arrested in their homes,” the former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on social media.
He said that as few as 50,000 people who gathered and refused to disperse until victory could remove what he called “this Russian black plague.”
“Let these 50,000 people start mobilizing. Do not wait for completely impotent imbeciles. Take the fate of the country into your own hands. Do not give Ivanishvili a chance to neutralize young people’s protests with cheap drugs and jobs at call centers. Go all the way, fear nothing, and you will definitely win,” Saakashvili wrote.
