Russia is characterized by oppressing unprotected nations, Strategy Aghmashenebeli member says

Russia is characterized by oppressing unprotected nations, said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the opposition Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.

According to Manjgaladze, the policy of flattering and silence will bring nothing good to Georgia and it is necessary to work actively with international partners on this issue.

“I call on the Georgian Government once again, we are ready to stand by them in terms of taking all state-oriented steps. This issue is very painful for us, out of the statements I have seen from the Government officials, General Chachibaia is making relatively adequate statements, we need to hear from him what the Georgian government can do.

We, of course, must rule out the return of territories by military means, but if there comes a moment when Russia is not satisfied with the territory already occupied, Georgia must think about defence.

The United States has made a statement, all but three states, except Russia, Nicaragua and the exotic states, all recognize Georgia within the internationally recognized borders. The main thing is for the Georgian Government to be able to mobilize this international opinion now, silence is not the solution, if anyone thinks now in Georgia that we will achieve something through silence, she/he is a useful idiot or a deliberate traitor to the country,” Manjgaladze said.

Anatoly Bibilov, the de-facto president of the occupied South Ossetia region said that the “republic” should be a part of the historical homeland, Russia, and “legal steps will be taken” to unite “South Ossetia” with Russia shortly.
