“Russia-Georgia war ended but peace never came,” Lithuanian PM says

Ingrida Šimonytė, Lithuanian Prime Minister remarked on the 14th anniversary of 2008 Russia-Georgia war. She said the war ended but peace never came.

“On 8 Aug 2008, Russia invaded Georgia. The 11 days’ war was ended with a peace deal but the peace never came, because appeasement only nourishes aggressor’s appetite.

Lithuania stands with Georgia in condemning Russian aggression, and in support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she tweeted.
