Georgian President meets Lithuanian PM

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Monday met with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ingrida Šimonytė.

During her visit to Lithuania, Zourabichvili emphasized the importance of Lithuania’s constant and firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and its European path.

According to the President’s press office, the parties talked about the current situation in the region, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and Russian aggression. The President reiterated her support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people while pointing out that Georgia has frequently been the target of Russian aggression.

The parties also discussed Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process. The meeting noted that Georgia needs to be represented at the highest level at the next NATO summit, which has been slated for 11-12 July in Vilnius.
