Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution on expanding the list of individuals and legal entities from Ukraine, which are subject to sanctions.
“The list of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine, to whom special restrictive measures will be applied, has been expanded. I have signed the relevant resolution. This is done to protect the interests of the Russian state, companies and citizens of Russia,” Medvedev wrote on Twitter on December 25, 2018.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 22 signed a decree providing for the introduction of “special economic measures” in connection with Ukraine’s “unfriendly actions.” The document instructs authorities to draw up lists of individuals and legal entities to whom these measures will be applied. On November 1, the Russian government introduced restrictive economic measures against Ukrainian nationals and legal entities. The sanctions affected 68 Ukrainian companies and 322 citizens.
The government decree contains a complete sanctions list, which also includes a number of top Ukrainian officials such as NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Minister for Information Policies Yuriy Stets, and others.
