Rockslide disrupts train traffic on Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi, and Tbilisi-Batumi routes

A rockslide occurred at the Didube-Avchala crossing, near Ksani Street, in the early hours, leading to the temporary disruption of train traffic on the Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi, and Tbilisi-Batumi routes, Georgian Railways reported.

The relevant services of Georgian Railways swiftly cleared one of the tracks, resulting in the timely resumption of train operations. Currently, efforts are ongoing to clean up the second direction track.

“Once the cleaning works on the second track are completed per all required safety rules, train traffic will be restored to its regular schedule. The experts are inspecting the rockslide site,” Georgian Railways stated.
