Robert Fico plans official visit to Georgia, Slovak FM says

The visit by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to Georgia is being planned. The Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár, announced during a joint press conference with Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.

Blanár said he is pleased that relations between Slovakia and Georgia are strengthening.

“I would like to state that relations between Georgia and Slovakia are very good. There are no problems. The Speaker of Parliament will also visit Georgia in the near future. In addition, a visit by the Prime Minister is planned. I am pleased that our relations are being strengthened by the opening of new consulates — for example, a consulate was opened in Kutaisi. Relations are also improving with direct air traffic operating between Bratislava and Kutaisi. Georgia is very attractive in terms of tourism as well. I would like to emphasize that the Slovak Republic fully supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We express our support for the unity and sovereignty of your country, regardless of which country violates its territorial integrity,” Blanár said.
