The Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is constructing a new bridge and road across the Rioni River in Poti.
According to the Roads Department, a steel-reinforced concrete road bridge is 436 meters long, with a total access road length of 2 kilometers.
The new bridge and road will ensure safe traffic and uninterrupted transit movement on the road of international significance.
The Poti Bridge is part of the East-West Highway. This high-speed highway serves as the shortest connecting route between Europe and Asia. Given its location, the highway will become a key transport link connecting the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, and Central Asia.
The construction costs 60.8 million GEL, and the project is implemented with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The joint venture “MIRBUD-CS,” the winner of the international tender, is implementing the work.
