Rikard Jozwiak: EU considers cooperation with Georgia below political level on connectivity
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Europe bureau chief, Rikard Jozwiak, says EU foreign ministers held a brief discussion on Georgia during their meeting in Luxembourg today.
According to Jozwiak, the ministers’ position remained unchanged, with the view that political backsliding in Georgia has deepened significantly.
He added that a more extensive discussion among the ministers is expected in January.
“EU foreign ministers had a short discussion today on Georgia. Essentially the same view as before – significant political backsliding in the country, but some interest in working BELOW political level on issues such as connectivity. Bigger discussion among ministers expected in January.” Jozwiak wrote.
