The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance reports that the customs checkpoint at Sadakhlo is operating normally.
According to the Service, the import and export of goods at Georgia’s customs border, as well as customs control procedures for individuals crossing the state border through this checkpoint, are proceeding smoothly and without interruption.
“On May 26, heavy rainfall caused a nearby river to swell, damaging a section of the international road connecting Armenia and Georgia, three kilometres from the Georgian border.
Consequently, the customs checkpoint Bagratashen on the Armenian side was completely halted. Until the ongoing rehabilitation works on this road section are completed, the Armenian side has proposed an alternative bypass road to facilitate the movement of passengers and cargo. Additionally, the Debeda river overflowed its banks, flooding the area around the customs checkpoint Sadakhlo Railway in Marneuli municipality.
However, once the rehabilitation works are finished, the checkpoint will resume its operations at full capacity,” stated the Revenue Service.
