Rehabilitation works are currently underway on the km25–km41 section of the Gomi–Sachkhere–Chiatura–Zestaponi regional highway in Sachkhere Municipality, according to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia. The comprehensive overhaul covers a 17-kilometre stretch of road.

The Gomi–Sachkhere–Chiatura–Zestaponi highway serves as the shortest route connecting three municipalities, and linking surrounding villages to their regional centres.

The road section undergoing rehabilitation in Sachkhere Municipality had severely deteriorated, creating hazardous driving conditions. The new project will fully ensure safe and comfortable travel.

Under the scope of the project, the carriageway, connections to local roads, and access points to residential properties will be completely renewed. To enhance road safety, new traffic signs and reflective cats’ eyes will be installed, and horizontal road markings will be applied to the carriageway.

The state budget funds the 26.2 million lari project, which is scheduled for completion this year.
