Registration closes for October 4 local self-government elections: 14 parties to contest

The registration process for political parties participating in the October 4 elections for municipal representative bodies, city councils (Sakrebulo) and mayors of self-governing cities and communities has concluded.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) reviewed all submitted applications and corresponding documentation. As a result, 14 parties have been registered and granted the right to participate in the elections.

In total, seventeen parties applied to the Central Election Commission for participation rights. Three were refused registration as they failed to meet the requirements established by law.

The next stage for political parties involves submitting party lists, majoritarian candidates, and mayoral candidates to the relevant election commission (no later than September 4, 2025), after which the process of reviewing submitted documentation and subsequent registration will commence.
