Rare Diseases Coordination Council meets over achondroplasia guidelines

The Rare Diseases Coordination Council on Friday held another meeting over the development of guidelines and protocols for the management of achondroplasia.

According to the First Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia, the Ministry and the group of experts are ready, based on the best interests of the children, to duly provide the necessary protocol and guidelines for achondroplasia management.

She stated that the Ministry continues to communicate with the company producing Vosoritide, the drug used to treat achondroplasia.

The meeting was attended by the parents of children with achondroplasia, Silviu Domente, WHO Representative and Head of WHO Country Office Georgia, and representatives of UNICEF, the Public Defender, and the Finance Ministry.
