Public transport suspension extended to September 13

Public transport suspension will remain in force till September 13, Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council Giorgi Gibradze announced on Tuesday.

Public transport resumption is not expedient amid the current epidemiological situation in the country, Gibradze noted after today’s meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council.

The Georgian government imposed some restrictions between August 14 and September 4 to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 4,778 coronavirus cases, 4,753 recoveries, and 79 deaths, increasing the country’s total case tally to 549,811, among them, 493,414 people recovered and 7,408 died.

As of today, 1,184,306 people got coronavirus jab with 25,670 in a day.
