Public funeral of helicopter crash victims at Sameba Cathedral

The public funeral of the rescuers and first aid responders who died in the helicopter crash near Gudauri is ongoing at the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral in Tbilisi.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the pilots of the border police and the rescuers of the emergency service will be buried with military honour at family cemeteries.

A border police helicopter on a rescue operation in Gudauri crashed on July 29, killing eight people.
