Public Funeral of Catholicos-Patriarch continues at Holy Trinity Cathedral

A civil funeral service is ongoing at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, where citizens are paying tribute to Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II.
The Patriarch was borne in procession from the Patriarchal Residence to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, after which a memorial service was held by Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, together with members of the Holy Synod.
The cathedral remains open 24 hours a day, allowing the public to pay their respects.
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II passed away on March 17 at the age of 93. Catholicos-Patriarch is to be buried at Sioni Cathedral on March 22.
