Public Defender to assess insulting statements against female politicians, Ombudsman says
The Georgian Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani, announced that the Public Defender’s Office will thoroughly assess statements that insult and reinforce discrimination against female politicians, adding that “these statements will be included in the public defender’s report”.
Ioseliani deems engaging in such conversations with women unacceptable.
“No matter how challenging it is to hear different opinions, engaging in such conversations does not contribute to the dignity of anyone and only strengthens discriminatory attitudes towards women,” Public Defender wrote on a social network following the incident that occurred at a plenary today.
