Protest rally at Governmental Administration

The movement For Georgia organized a protest rally in front of the Governmental Administration building on March 9. The protesters demanded the resignation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili following the TV Pirveli story.

“In released recordings, the entire state apparatus, including the Prime Minister, were engaged in punishing young people who criticize Bera Ivanishvili. It is not the government. It is a punitive squad working by Russian methods”, one of the protesters stated.

On March 6, TV Pirveli released a secret audio recording of conversations between Bera Ivanishvili (son of the former GD party Chair), Irakli Garibashvili and Anzor Chubinidze, who serves as the Head of the Special State Protection Service. According to recordings, Bera Ivanishvili seems to be tasking Chubinidze to punish youngsters because of unwanted comments on the social network.

Georgian Dream describes the recordings as gross fabrication.
