Prosecutor's Office launches investigation into interference with journalists’ professional activities
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has launched an investigation into illegal interference with journalists’ professional activities, under Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
“The Investigation Department of the Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office initiated the investigation based on media reports indicating that, on October 4, on Atoneli Street and nearby areas in Tbilisi, participants of a protest rally allegedly obstructed the journalistic activities of the Public Broadcaster and Imedi TV. The interference reportedly included the use of pepper spray and physical obstruction,” the statement by the Prosecutor’s Office reads.
