Prosecutor's Office detains one individual for obstructing journalistic activities

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office detained one individual for illegally interfering with a journalist’s professional activities by threatening violence.

The Prosecutor’s Office reported that, based on the investigation conducted by the Kakheti Prosecution, the detained individual attempted to prevent a reporter and cameraman from Rustavi 2 TV from filming a TV story in Kurdghelauri village.

The investigation is opened under Part 2, Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The Prosecutor’s Office will apply to the court to impose preventive measures against the detainee within the term set by the law.
