Prosecutor's Office charges two with election rigging 

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has filed charges against two individuals for their involvement in election rigging during the October 26, 2024, parliamentary elections.

According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the defendants placed fake ballots in the ballot box at polling station No. 69 in Marneuli, leading to the annulment of the election results.

“The defendants were arrested on October 31, following a court decision, and have been charged under Article 164³ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which addresses election fraud and carries a penalty of up to two years in prison. The Prosecutor’s Office plans to request imprisonment as a preventive measure for the accused, as stipulated by law,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
