Prosecutor General meets Acting U.S. Deputy Ambassador
Georgian Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze met with Marc Nordberg, the Acting Deputy Ambassador of the United States to Georgia, to discuss ongoing cooperation between Georgian and U.S. law enforcement agencies.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, Nordberg thanked the Prosecutor General for the close collaboration that recently led to the identification of organized criminal groups involved in facilitating the illegal entry of Georgian citizens into the United States and forging documents.
The case was uncovered through a joint operation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and the Regional Security Office of the United States Embassy in Georgia. As a result of the investigation, several individuals have been brought to criminal responsibility.
The two sides also discussed joint efforts to combat various forms of crime and reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation in the law enforcement sector.
