Propaganda labelling Georgian laws, parliament as Russian not be tolerated, Speaker says
“The spreading of propaganda labelling the Georgian law as Russian and referring to the Georgian Parliament as the Russian Parliament, thereby insulting and attacking the Georgian people, their elected representatives, and Georgian democracy, will not be tolerated,” declared Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Parliament Speaker, during a plenary.
Papuashvili emphasized that the Georgian Parliament, where the elected representatives of the Georgian people assemble, exclusively adopts Georgian laws.
“Any statement suggesting that the Georgian Parliament passes Russian laws is nothing more than a propagandist tool taken from the KGB manual, and no one in this hall will be permitted to do so.
This information storm involved both Georgian and foreign actors. It represents an attack on the elected representatives of the Georgian people, consequently, an attack on the Georgians and Georgian democracy,” stated Shalva Papuashvili.
