Production of 111 new metro cars for Tbilisi underway in China, Tbilisi Mayor says

Production of 111 new metro cars for Tbilisi has begun in China, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said during his working visit to the People’s Republic of China.

According to Kaladze, during the visit he will personally inspect the production process of the new metro cars for the capital and hold a meeting with the mayor of Nanjing.

“We will have the opportunity to visit one of the world’s leading companies, where metro cars are being manufactured for our capital. This is very gratifying and important to me because no metro cars have been renewed or new cars purchased in recent years. The first to accomplish this is Georgian Dream–Democratic Georgia. I am very pleased that production of 111 cars has begun. Tomorrow, we will have the opportunity to inspect the specific cars that have already been manufactured and will be sent to the capital very soon to serve the people of Tbilisi,” Kaladze said.

The Tbilisi mayor also spoke about the strategic partnership between Georgia and China and the importance of further deepening economic cooperation.

“Georgia and China are linked by a strategic partnership. In recent years, these relations have been deepening and, of course, we must do everything possible to bring our countries even closer and make these relations even more productive and interesting,” Kaladze said.
