The procession on foot to transfer the remains of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, from the Patriarchal Residence to the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral has commenced.
Public Funerals will be held at the Sameba Cathedral.
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II passed away on March 17 at the age of 93.
Georgia has declared a national day of mourning following the death of Ilia II.
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 22, in the Sioni Cathedral.
