Procedural Committee backs recognition of For Georgia party replacements
Following the termination of parliamentary mandates for 12 members of the Gakharia for Georgia party, the Committee on Procedural Issues discussed the recognition of their replacements at today’s session.
The Committee supported the draft conclusion granting mandates to Gela Abuladze, Jemal Ananidze, Ketevan Bakaradze, Rusudan Tevzadze, Malkhaz Toria, Shalva Kereselidze, Salome Kobaladze, Giga Parulava, Vika Filpani, Giorgi Sharashidze, Tamar Khvedeliani, and Sofio Khorguani. The draft has been submitted to the Bureau for consideration.
On July 2, Parliament terminated the mandates of Giorgi Gakharia and 11 party members — Teona Akubardia, Ana Buchukur, Levan Gogichaishvili, Zaza Tavadze, Beka Liluashvili, Natia Mezvrishvili, Berdia Sichinava, Kakhaber Kemoklidze, Roin Kochorashvili, Dimitri Tskitishvili, and Zviad Dzidziguri — citing repeated unexcused absences from parliamentary sessions.
Since the Gakharia for Georgia party has not withdrawn its parliamentary list, Parliament is proceeding with recognition of the next candidates as replacements.
