Probe launched into GD banner damage involving Elene Khoshtaria

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the damage of election banners, following an appeal from representatives of the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party. The case is being investigated under Article 187 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the damage or destruction of property.

According to the ministry,  the incident was allegedly committed by one of the leaders of the Coalition for Changes, Elene Khoshtaria.

“Law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions. The exact amount of damage will be determined through an examination, after which the incident will be followed by an appropriate legal response,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
