Special equipment and military vehicles are deployed in the Belarusian capital before the protest rally. Law enforcement officers and water cannons are observed in various districts of Minsk, local media outlets report.

Independence Square is barriered off with metal fences. Several metro stations in Minsk are temporarily closed due to the protest.

According to local media, 58 people were arrested in Belarus on Saturday for violating the legislation on mass events on the territory of the republic.
