The principle of financing within the universal healthcare program will be changed starting from 2019.
The working meeting organized by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs and supported by the World Health Organization was held today.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new system of reimbursement envisages moving to the model of Diagnosis-related group (DRG), according to which the patient’s diagnosis, age, length of hospitalization and other criteria will determine the amount of funding.
This system is implemented in a number of countries of the world.
As experts from the World Health Organization noted, the Diagnosis-related group model is more cost-effective, transparent and contributes to financial equality.
