Prime Minister inspects new sports facilities under construction in Telavi
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze visited Telavi to inspect the construction of new sports facilities, accompanied by Revaz Sokhadze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, according to the Government Administration’s press office.
Kobakhidze toured the site of a new 300-seat football stadium, where work is well underway. The project includes an artificial pitch with floodlights, as well as an administrative building, changing rooms, toilets and ancillary buildings.
Construction of the football technical centre began in November 2025 and is due to be completed by the end of this year. The project is costing GEL 4.7 million.
“The prime minister was also briefed on progress in designing a new swimming complex,” the press office said.
According to the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the design documentation for the new complex provides for two swimming pools.
‘The complex will also include stands for 200 spectators, changing rooms, showers, and administrative and ancillary space. The building will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.
