Pride Week kicks off in Tbilisi

Tbilisi is hosting Pride Week on 1-8 July, consisting of three events.

Today’s event is attended by LGBTQ+ people, supporters, international and local partners, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

Dunja Mijatović, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, is a special guest at today’s event.

In their speech, Nick Beresford, the UNDP Resident Representative, and Dutch Ambassador to Georgia, Maaike van Koldam, thanked the country’s Interior Ministry for ensuring peace and safety during the event.

The opening event will unveil the winners of the visual art and LGBTQ+ essay contests.
