President of Ukraine signs law on creation of registry of pedophiles in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that provides for the creation of a single register of persons convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and the integrity of minors.
This is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada. It is noted that the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine will create the registry, it will be used by the heads of prosecutor’s offices and pre-trial investigation bodies, prosecutors, investigators, authorized representatives of the National Police and the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR).
In October, it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada at the suggestion of Zelensky repealed the law on mandatory chemical castration for pedophiles and the creation of an open register of convicts for child molestation.
