President of Ukraine recalled Ukrainian Ambassador for consultations, Embassy says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recalled Ukraine’s ambassador to Georgia, Igor Dolgov for consultations, said Andrei Kasanov, a representative of the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia.

“Two reasons stand behind the decision. First is the Georgian government’s stance related to the sanctions imposed for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Second is the decision made about sending Georgian volunteers to help the Ukrainian army. Many issues should be discussed during these consultations,” Kasanov said.

Ukraine recalled its ambassadors from Georgia Igor Dolgov, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his video address on Tuesday.

As the President of Ukraine noted, the recall of the Ukrainian Ambassador from Georgia is due to the fact that the Georgian side prevented the departure of Georgian volunteers, and took an “immoral position” over the imposition of sanctions.

According to Georgian volunteers, on Monday evening, a flight chartered by the Ukrainian government to transport them to Ukraine was blocked from landing in Tbilisi.
