“We can be proud of our achievements in connecting continents. Through investment in railway and road infrastructure, we are opening new corridors for transport,” declared Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the official opening of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

He also highlighted that the Zangezur Corridor will soon become a new branch of the East-West route.

“The East-West Corridor is already successfully operational. The Zangezur Corridor, which will serve as another branch of this route, is set to be constructed, based on the agreement signed between the U.S. President, the Armenian Prime Minister, and me at the White House on August 8, 2025,” President Aliyev stated.

Additionally, Aliyev emphasised the significance of the Black Sea submarine cable and noted Azerbaijan’s close cooperation with regional partners on this project.

“Today, we are working closely with our partners on energy cable projects. Another initiative connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Bulgaria is currently in the implementation phase,” he added.
