President nominates two candidates for NBG Board Member position

Nana Keinishvili and Teimuraz Khomeriki were nominated by the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili for the two open positions on the National Bank board members.

According to the president’s press office, in June of this year, Zourabichvili offered the Parliament the candidatures of Giorgi Bakradze and Dimitri Japaridze but the legislature did not endorse them.

The members of the parliamentary majority said then that they had no questions regarding the competence of the candidates, but no consultations were held between the president and the parliament, and they did not agree on the candidates in advance.
