The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has commenced his official visit to the Republic of Turkiye. According to the presidential administration, he arrived in Ankara, accompanied by his wife.
The presidential administration further informed that an official welcoming ceremony took place at Ankara Esenboğa International Airport, where high-ranking Turkish officials greeted the Georgian delegation.
“Today, the President of Georgia will be honoured with an official welcoming at Turkiye’s Presidential Palace. He will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with whom he will hold high-level talks. A joint statement to the media will follow,” the presidential administration announced.
The Georgian delegation includes Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Archil Kalandia, representatives of the presidential administration, and members of the Friendship Group with Turkiye’s Parliament: Giorgi Chkonia, Mariam Lashkhi, and Guram Macharashvili.
