“Our homeland and the Georgian people are undergoing a crucial phase in the test of statehood today,” declared President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili during his annual address to Parliament.

According to the President, the Georgian people are at a pivotal moment in their journey toward statehood.

“Our homeland and the Georgian people are undergoing a crucial phase in the test of statehood today. Centuries of experience, a rich history, a vibrant culture, the dignity of the Georgian nation, and a strong character are the foundational values that guide Georgia like a beacon on this challenging and perilous path. The wisdom of our ancestors has instilled in us the profound significance of persistence and the fight against injustice, as well as faith in God, our homeland, and ourselves.

It is through adhering to these principles that our nation has been safeguarded and preserved, allowing us to proudly retain our unique heritage, including our language, script, culture, faith, traditions, and identity, while witnessing the decline and collapse of many powerful empires that once dominated Georgia. With this in mind, we Georgians precisely understand which values we must protect, what we must safeguard, and ultimately, what kind of Georgia we aspire to build.

Fortunately, during this difficult period, our state and the Georgian people remained united, standing together to guard their homeland. Despite our differences, we stand side by side, firmly protecting our land as one unified and extended family called Georgia,” the President concluded.

As Kavelashvili also noted during his annual address, his eight years of experience in the Parliament of Georgia have equipped him with significant political insight.

“Following the presidential election conducted under the new rules, Georgia has become a full-fledged parliamentary republic, in which each institution’s representative must, through close coordination and cooperation, do our utmost for the country and the well-being of our people. I extend my best wishes for success to the 11th convocation of Parliament. I am confident that we will collaborate actively over the next four years. I believe these will be four years dedicated to strengthening our country’s national interests,” the President affirmed.

“Fortunately, during this difficult period, our state and the Georgian people stand united, guarding their country together,” President Mikheil Kavelashvili emphasized during his address.
