President Kavelashvili views Suamtova as a celebration demonstrating Georgians’ character, culture, values

“Suamtoba is a celebration, which clearly demonstrates a Georgian individual’s character, culture and values, which have preserved our national identity for centuries,” said Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in Beshumi, mountainous Adjara region.

Addressing the locals and guests, the President spoke about the significance of public celebrations, which represent the integral parts of Georgian culture, folklore and national self-determination.

According to Kavelashvili, Shuamtoba unites individuals of different generations. He expressed gratitude to ancestors and the elderly, who preserved the celebration and remarked that passing on traditions to future generations is a solid foundation for Georgian cultural development.
