President Kavelashvili pardons 49 individuals

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili pardoned 49 individuals on the occasion of St. George’s Day.

According to the Presidential Administration, the act of clemency applied to 14 people serving non-custodial sentences and 34 inmates serving prison terms. In addition, one individual had their conviction expunged.

“The President of Georgia exercises the exclusive constitutional power of pardon based on the principles of humanism and the interests of the state,” the Presidential Administration said in a statement.
