President Kavelashvili attends UN anniversary event in New York

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, together with the Georgian delegation, is attending the anniversary event marking the founding of the United Nations at its headquarters in New York. The high-level plenary meeting is expected to last about one hour.

President Kavelashvili departed for the United States on September 21. During his visit, he will address the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to the Presidential Administration, the President’s agenda includes several high-level bilateral meetings, including a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

In addition, President Kavelashvili will attend an official reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in honor of the heads of delegations participating in the General Assembly.
